AEF sponsors a Reading Incentive Program every other school year.  The purpose of this program is to encourage reading for pleasure by students at the high school level. 

Funds are provided to assist each site in creating a program that fits their needs.  The program differs from year to year and high school to high school.  In the past, funds have been used to purchase books, invite authors to speak, library displays, contest, and prizes for the number of books read. 

During the 2007-08 school year, Mark Keppel High School has been funded,  this Olympic year, to implement a Reading Incentive Program in conjunction with John Nabor, former Olympian and author.
