The Foundation has chosen the RIF (Reading is Fundamental) program to support the District’s Project H.E.A.R.T. (Helping Every Alhambra Preschooler with a Readiness Toolkit). Through the nationally recognized RIF program, the Foundation funds the purchase of three books for each kindergarten student in AUSD to take home to begin a home reading library. Kindergarten students at each school site select the books they want at a special activity held at each site. Other community organizations provide funding for the RIF program at other grade levels in the district.
